We serve as a “bridge over troubled water” for single-parent families in crisis.

Did you know a majority of families in America today are headed by single parents? Yes, in fact many of these women have been victims of domestic violence, poverty or homelessness. Today’s sluggish economy is making matters even worse. Scores of single moms are calling our office everyday panicked over spiking gas prices, soaring food costs and a record unemployment rate. These women tell us that they’re being forced to make some tough decisions in these tough economic times just to survive. Choices like: whether to stay in a home with a physically abusive spouse or runaway and live on the streets; or whether to pay for their children’s much-needed medications or pay the electric bill; or the worst we’ve seen yet, feed their children dog food or let them go hungry.
